Beauty is a Wound
Beauty is a Wound is a novel made by an Indonesian author which takes on the theme of spiritual and war history. It is filled with stories of folktales in the midst of the Dutch and Japanese occupation. For an assignment I had to create the opening title sequence for a TV series based on the novel.
The use of Indonesian war photos and colonial paintings meant to resemble the two worlds clashing in Indonesia, followed with animal symbolism which I use to represent the characters and their own personal agendas.
